Port Douglas is located in the far north of Queensland in Australia. The best time to go there is between May and September. ( Or you can fluke it like our daughter and visit in January ( 2019) for 5 nights and miss the torrential rain and 100 year flooding to enjoy a lovely holiday! In August when the weather is freezing in Melbourne it is a great escape to a warmer tropical paradise! It averaged a lovely sunny 26 degrees each day except the last day which was a bit overcast and drizzly. The Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest are popular places tourists go to when visiting Port Douglas.

Port Douglas markets The Port Douglas markets are on every Sunday. The stalls range from handle made stuff, photography prints, imported jewellery and alternative.
