A short drive from Melbourne to Phillip Island

With warm weather forecast for the weekend we decided to take the jPod and the dogs for a weekend away camping. We wanted to slot in a weekend away before the cold and rainy winter weather. We made a booking for the Foreshore Caravan Park in Cowes, Phillip Island. Taking the Friday off work we packed up the Jeep, Jpod and dogs and head off into the sunny blue skies.

Easy drive –  straight into allocated campsite

We arrived at our campsite at 3.30pm and David was happy that there was no reversing the jPod into our allocated spot. He drove straight into the spot and we started setting up. While the parking of the jPod was straightforward our dog Taffee decided to play up and would not stop barking.

Eventually with a bit of interruption from the dogs we set up the tent on the back of the jPod, mats and awning. All organised we went for a walk to the beach.

Great to be so close to the beach and the sunset was magnificent.

Backup BBQ always handy

I set up the weber and hooked up the gas. It soon became apparent that there was no gas left in the bottle.

While annoying…luckily we had the Coleman Hyperflame with its own gas bottles stored away just in case. We  cooked up some sausages and had them in bread.

Easy ( not very nutritious but delicious!) dinner and an early night.
