Melbourne to Inverloch for a Cosy Winter holiday

Sick with a snotty nose, and weather forecast for the week was cold and wet. Not ideal for having a holiday but not much you can do other than pack a big box of tissues. Inverloch is not far from Melbourne and only a couple of hours driving. We were heading off on the Monday which was a public holiday so traffic was nice and light compared to what we could see coming back the other way!

Before getting in the car we packed our bags, packed the car and took the dogs for a quick walk around the block. We were not in a hurry as checkin time was 2pm.

Dog Friendly Charming Cottage in Inverloch

We had booked a dog friendly 100 year old cottage located within walking distance of the main shops and off leash dog beach in Inverloch. There were not many reviews however David decided it looked interesting. I was not so keen and the thought of  a double bed when you are used to a King size bed was an issue for me. Luckily the bed was fine and we slept quite well most nights.

The Beautiful  old cottage turned out to be charming with a pretty garden and well fenced for dogs. First thing we did when we arrived was to let the dogs run around and explore their new surroundings. The fencing is perfect for small dogs and they loved running around the cottage and checking out all the new smells.

Meander to the Inverloch beach and shops

Once we had unpacked the car we took the dogs for a walk to the beach close by. Today was a sunny 17 degrees and not too cold at all. We then walked in and checked out the shops in Inverloch. While the sun was still shining we sat outside the pub and had a cider.

Lit the fire, watched TV and then ZZZ time

Dave managed to light the fire ( with a few angry words along the way) while I cooked up dinner. The fire made the room feel toasty and comfortable. We had a yummy pulled pork, coleslaw and brioche buns. Always funny watching local news and the different reporters and the country news. Was not looking forward to sleeping in a double bed!! (We are not small people) however the mattress turned out to be firm and really comfortable.
